ECPI was a great experience during both of my times there in 1999 and recently in 2022. Most of the instructors were knowledgeable and helpful. The curriculum was focused on the field I desire to be in and I hope to start working in soon. I also met a lot of great people along the way. I would definitely recommend ECPI, if someone wants to get a degree concentrated in a specific IT field.

I have nothing against Maryville but this is my opinion and for students thinking about entering the Masters in Cybersecurity online program. I graduated with a 3.6 program GPA. The program is approx. 85 readings and quick quizzes. The other approx. 15% is a labs. The terms are accelated 8 weeks with zero breaks in between terms (end of term is on Sunday, next subject starts the next day). The online program is poorly constructed. They take the 16-week in person classroom course and condense it into 10 weeks, resulting in assignments that do not make sense. The third-party virtual labs and presentation material do not always work. It appears they do not take feedback from students and instructors on how to clarify assignments becasue I have had this same problem with each class I have taken thus far. Generally I had good professors one class on social engineering I felt was designed for on-ground undergraduate students. Course material was relevant and up to date. I was able to enroll in their accelerated program because of certifications and experience.

This is my fist term at Utica and I am impressed. I am pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity. The introduction class dives you directly into the Cybersecurity and tools used in the field. The application process was quick and easy. My success coach is available when I need her. After months of research for a great program I have no regrets signing up for this program with Utica.

The undergraduate programs are affordable but seeking a graduate degree is fairly expensive and possibly a huge deciding factor. Ideally an in residence program would be ideal but working ful time (i.e. military) doesn't afford too many options. The cyber security program at UMUC is one of a kind. It challenges from the first course taken. The staff support is incredible. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone. They have several different degrees offered. You can apply immediately.

I have my Bachelor's from ECPI too, but I found the MS Cyber Security program a worthwhile challenge! The course load was no joke, and I learned an enormous amount of practical information that immediately has taken my career to a new level.
