College was a wonderful experience for me. Honestly, I learned my most valuable life lessons from college. They were lessons not taught in the classroom, though.

Adelphi University has a beautiful, small campus that is easy to get around and feels very safe, even walking around at night. It is very close to the train station for easy commute, and walking distance to a few small shops and restaurants. My professors were very friendly and I never had trouble getting their advice or extra help during office hours. The downsides to Adelphi are the price and the social life. Overall this was an excellent choice for graduate programs. I felt it helped get me reacquainted with the coursework as I had been out of school for quite a few years. The professors were helpful and available as needed. I had no complaints about the program. It is somewhat expensive so I suggest completing a graduate assistantship if possible to help supplement the cost.

The program is excellent at preparing students to be clinicians, researchers, or university professors immediately after graduation. The program is academically competitive and the environment is challenging, but everyone is extremely helpful and supportive. The faculty are knowledgeable and accessible. A downside is the location, as the easiest form of transportation is the LIRR which gets expensive.
