I think that Central Michigan University has a lot of great professors and academics who love teaching and educating students. Many of them are very supportive and actually want their students to succeed. They push students to do well in their classes and many have a holistic view of their students, caring for their mental, physical, and emotional health along with the challenges of being a student. They focus too much on the STEM and business programs, leaving all the other programs behind. Students mostly go to CMU for education and social sciences, yet these programs always seem underfunded and are struggling to stay afloat.

I recently finished the Master Teacher program in Special Education through Central Michigan University 91成人, and it was a great choice for my busy life. The work was hard sometimes, but it was fair and I can use what I learned in my own classroom. My best advice is to stay on top of your work because since it is online, you have to be organized and watch your own deadlines. If you have a question, you can just email the professor, and they are very helpful. I would tell anyone who wants to help students with special needs to go to CMU because it is a solid program that fits into a real person's schedule, and it made me a better teacher!

I had a good experience with my program, but it was clear that the college didn't value the program I was in, and there was limited funding and support for research. While I was there, multiple professors in the department retired or left, and were not replaced, leaving the remaining professors to pick up the slack. Central Michigan University provides a unique campus environment that is close-knit and student-oriented. I got to know my professors and peers very well due to small class sizes, and professional opportunities were easier to come by. For those reading this and are considering any graduate program in Psychology (clinical, experimental, I/O, school), do NOT apply here. CMU is slated to cut funding for students in those programs as soon as 2023-2024. Unless you are a current student who is only taking extension credits and has a thesis and/or dissertation leftover as the final requirement, do not consider it. The Graduate Student Union (GSU) has also dissolved so no way to negotiate those contracts. Despite how much we as students have voiced our concerns, our worries, and commented on how our requirements our being rushed is concerning alongside the stipend cut, no one at the university is listening to us. Even if someone has an abusive advisor in the midst of a sinking budget, there are no mechanisms in place to protect those students, even if they are in a diverse group and reported harassment or discrimination (ethnic, neurodiverse). If that advisor drops from the committee for a project requirement, 1-2 years on that is officially gone in the blink of an eye. My old advisor dumped me and now I am starting my dissertation behind with the lingering concern of whether who is on my committee will actually be around the following year for my defense sometime in 2024. Central Michigan University - You are a disappointment to me and others in various programs across different departments. Others may not be vocal about it, but I am doing so on my behalf and theirs as well. If you cut the budget for graduate students entirely, remember how many dreams you crushed in the wake of keeping administration who could have had pay reduced to pay those graduate students' tuition and stipends. Instead, administrative pay increased while simultaneously discussing low enrollment. This is why people are leaving here. Its clear that our futures as students who drive CMU are not the concern, its those highest in the chain of command who are instead. If CMU restores funding for graduate students in Psychology departments and proves this review wrong, I will remove this review. In the meantime, it will remain as a caution to future students.

If I could give zero stars I would. I took 2 classes via distance learning for professsional development. The problems I have had afterward trying to get my transcripts sent have been horrific. The school also charged an inordinate amount in additional fees after the classes were completed. I鈥檓 still dealing with this three months after my classes were completed. I have lost a job I badly needed because my license couldn鈥檛 be renewed until they posted the transcripts. Their response 鈥淚鈥檓 sorry you... I strongly suggest that you don鈥檛 attend Central Michigan. I only had 20% (1 of 5) professors teach classes live even after vaccines were readily available. The Central Michigan professors do poorly in teaching online. They read the slides over Zoom and have limited real world examples to help you understand the material. I asked my tax class professor for better resources to understand the material and she said 鈥渞ead the book鈥�. I paid room & board and food plan costs to be taught by one professor.... Central Michigan University was one of the best college experiences that I could have asked for. It is a larger school that feels like you know everybody. They care extensively about student involvement, with hundreds of organizations to join and gain leadership experience, as well as community service and giving back through programs such as the Alternative Breaks program, where it is a leadership throughout the country. I highly suggest coming here as I would not be the person that I am today if I went elsewhere.

My experience at Central Michigan University CMU) could not have been better. The campus is just the right size; I grew up in a small town so I appreciated the simplicity of Mt. Pleasant where CMU is located, yet the student population is dense enough to provide students with that true college experience. This is all online. It was ok I guess. The professor I had on our leadership class was totally checked out and we didnt hear from him until the end of the course. He provided no direction and didnt respond to emails. As I approached graduation I had one professor who gave me a 3.0 in the class. I had to call her out and point out specifics of the syllabus. She then had to change my grade to a 4.0. When I had emailed her about my grade she simply tossed it off and said I didnt turn in all the assignments.... Read More Which I absolutely did. She acknowledged her mistake in an email to me and I responded with my gratitude and thanking her for helping me on this life journey to further educate myself. I had no response from her which would have been nice. In my recent course the professor gave us practice questions to work on. He simply copied questions from another course he taught. So I simply copied my answers from that course. He then failed my assignment and said I coudnt do that. I get that it was lazy on my part but it was also equally lazy on his parrt. Especially since Im paying 30,000 for this degree. So Im not impressed.
