Like any school, you can get away with doing and learning very little. But the textbooks, homework and assignments really do help you learn. Most assignments are graded mostly on content rather than spelling or grammar issues. No exams were proctored for me, but if you take study seriously then you will learn. I would not recommend this university to anyone who expects real instruction or value for their tuition. Professors consistently do the bare minimum鈥攎ost courses only offer two live lectures, and half of my instructors didn鈥檛 even show up for those. Many professors have little familiarity with the course content and give guidance that doesn鈥檛 align with the actual curriculum. They rarely take the time to review course materials or clarify confusing assignments.

I completed a degree I had already began at a previous college all online at CSU. Being a single mom of 3 young children and working full-time rotating shift hours made it impossible to attend an in-person class with any regularity.

Columbia Southern University offers a wide range of degree options. I completed two Masters degrees during my time there. The cost per credit hour is very affordable compared to other online and in person colleges. The online school is emersive and dynamic. The professionalism and integrity in my opinion competes with other colleges and may well surpass some. There was some hesitancy with choosing CSU as the reviews were strongly mixed; however, I thank GOD that I followed what I felt. This entire experience has greatly strengthened my ability to connect and communicate the various public health concepts, models, and intervention strategies available to successfully improve the health of any population. I have a Bachelors Degree from CSU earned before the regional accreditation was obtained. Honestly I did worry about the accreditation but I found the coursework to be challenging and the resources helpful. I had an excellent experience at Columbia Southern University. The flexible schedule worked well for me with my full-time job and family life balance. I recently graduated from CSU but have decided to pursue my Master鈥檚 degree at another university. There's no problem with transferring my credits. I'm not sure why some people say that credits don't transfer. That's simply not true. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at CSU and finished with a 3.8 GPA. The professors genuinely want the best for their students and their families. CSU offered excellent courses that allowed me to juggle being a working mom, wife, and full-time student. Columbia Southern University (CSU) is now regionally accredited. I completed my bachelor鈥檚 degree and have returned for my master鈥檚 degree. I had a commendable learning experience ranging from institutional and instructional support, necessitating my return for my master鈥檚 degree. CSU is thriving and provides quality education with affordable tuition. At CSU, my writing, knowledge, and skills increased exponentially. Those who could not handle the rigor of CSU鈥檚 courses and assignments look for flimsy excuses to attract sympathy and perhaps discourage others. That is not right. I completed a MBA with emphasis on Public Administration in 2014 and it opened the door for my career which has put me at a six-figure salary. This was all around my style of learning without any detriment to the level of education that I was receiving. With their Regional Accreditation, they meet the gold standard for an employer to accept the validity of a degree and a potential student can have the assurance that regulating bodies have found the education being offered to be on par with set guidelines. Long story short, the education I received at CSU enabled me to establish a lucrative career and having been a state school student I can attest that the quality of the education being delivered at CSU was as good as any coursework that I had done at a brick-and-mortar. Completing a degree can be difficult when one must also work standard business hours. Even though I had the option to attend school in the evening at my state school, it was a rush and often times depending on my workload at my place of employment, I found myself to be mentally exhausted but yet I was prescribed the time that I was to receive my education and had to "grind it out". For me, the freedom of online education was exactly what I needed and CSU delivered. I have zero regrets about attending CSU and have plenty to show for the education that I received. Also, it is worth noting that CSU was excellent in dealing with the Post 9/11 GI Bill and even Gold Ribbon veteran benefits. I am glad that CSU is well discussed in veteran and active duty circles.
