My experience at Messiah University had a profound impact on my life after college. The coursework in my major prepared me well for a role in industry and was a well respected degree in industry. Additionally, my social life was robust and lead to friendships that I still keep to this day

Messiah University is a small communal Christian college with an excellent chemistry department. The department is tight knit and has amazing professors who prepare you for either the work force or higher education.
The only negative aspect is the college's views against LGBTQ+ expression are outdated. Many professors and students are accepting, but these rules are in the college's community covenant.

Messiah has always had a great reputation in the community and with potential employers. The nursing program is no exception. The full-time faculty are great, answer all questions in a timely manner, and have reasonable expectations for students working while attending school. My lower rating is due to the Nursing Doctorate adjunct faculty. Of four adjuncts, two were absolutely horrible. They seemed to over-compensate for some short-coming by attempting to come across as experts. They expected students... Read More

My opinion of Messiah University has absolutely tanked since the start of the COVID pandemic. Restrictions and quarantines are stricter than the CDC’s recommendations, and the school administration has been coming off as very money hungry. Because I am not one of the students who was forced to quarantine under questionable reasoning, I will not speak on that. I will speak on what I do know which is how the school is coming across as money hungry and how administration has gaslit students that need... Read More

If you are seeking a school that will support your faith while also providing you with excellent academics and extracurricular activities then Messiah College should definitely be on your top ten list. I attended Messiah College as an undergrad majoring in Chinese. The curriculum for my major was organized very well, had high expectations and had abundant opportunities to support my learning and future career. The major is combined with a rigorous study abroad program which is also a requirement... Read More

I went to Messiah for my undergrad and now I am applying for their graduate program. I loved their small class sizes and the one on one instruction you get with their professors. My professors actually cared about me as a person, me as a student and me as an educator. I wouldn't change a thing.

Messiah College is an amazing school. Professors truly invest in their students. Class sizes foster these relationships and student academics. The experience truly makes you a better person, building your character, allowing you to reflect on your faith, and realizing your purpose in both your career and your life overall. I would recommend this school to anyone, just realize that it will cost you, literally.

I loved my experience at Messiah! The community atmosphere allowed me to grow and flourish into the person I am today. Now in the workforce, I feel that my experiences serving the community as a nursing student give me a broader perspective than many other nurses.

Lots of good teachers, and a great community of students. The required religion is stressed a little too much for my taste, but not too restricting overall. Sports are a big part of the college life as well.

Most people wouldn't know of Grantham, Pennsylvania if you mentioned it. It's a village, not a town or city, but literally a village and it's made up primarily of Messiah College and its students. In central PA, relatively close to hubs like Philadelphia, NYC, DC and smaller but significant areas like Lancaster and Gettysburg, Grantham and Messiah College have opportunity spanning for miles around. I grew up with Messiah College not too far from home and that meant I almost didn't attend after I... Read More

The Master of Arts in Higher Education program at Messiah College is a hybrid program that offers convenience to working adults with primarily online courses while fostering connections among students through intensive on-campus sessions during the summer. The faculty are highly accessible and offer guidance and support based on their real-life experiences as higher education administrators and professors. One shortcoming of the program is a lack of consistency from course to course in delivery and... Read More

My experience so far at this institution has been excellent. The professors in my areas of study are very knowledgable with lots of real world experience. They also make it a point to get to know the students on a personal level. The financial aid office has also been very supportive and works with me individually to help with any problems I may have.

Overall Messiah has a lot of flexibility for graduate students. You are able to take most of the classes online, which is great for students who are also working part/full time. Professors work with you to create a plan to complete your degree in a time frame that works for you.

Degree: Marriage & Family Therapy
Messiah College's Graduate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy is exceptional. The program pros are the that the faculty are truly invested in student success, the course work is challenging, but not overwhelming, and the student body is overall supportive of one another. The con is that the during the intensive weeks in which the student needs to remain on campus, there is limited transportation to obtain needed items.
