As a local to the area and a legacy graduate, I had high expectations for Mount Mercy, the good ol' Hill. I have nothing but positive things to say about that school, so much I came back as a grad student and was upset that most of my classes were moved away from the campus to the Graduate Center. The campus is simply gorgeous, sitting on top of the legendary Hill to overlook Cedar Rapids. But if you're not an outside person, no worries the hidden private tunnels connect all the buildings. I attended Mount Mercy University for my undergrad and really enjoyed that experience. The professors were very nice and helpful. This has continued into my grad program in Marriage and family therapy. The professors are amazing, having an on-site clinic to practice is super handy, and there has been a tremendous amount of personal growth over the last year through the program.

Degree: Nursing
Mt. Mercy provided me with everything I needed to be a competent nurse working on the floor. The program when I attended, allowed me to take my boards after my junior year and then work as a nurse throughout my senior year while I finished out my Bachelor's program which was very beneficial, although I believe the program has now changed.

Pros: Excellent professors that available for students and very willing to help with any problems. Small class size enables great discussion rather than simple lecture.. The campus food is great, the campus culture is welcoming, and everyone is extremely helpful. Cons: Not enough time to explore all the clubs and activities available on campus.

Degree: MBA
Pros - Small class sizes and team building activities. Cons - Multiple "large paper" assignments (e.g., 25 page research papers) - which seems unusual for an MBA program.
