I am in my first semester of an online grad program. Expect to spend a lot of time fixing administrative errors and shortcomings. Departments bounce you back and forth. Ticket system is ignored. I called accounts today and was 26th in line. After 45 minutes I made it to 10th.

The program, in my opinion, is unmatched; however, the financial aid department surprised me with extra fees, with 1 week's notice. As a result, my mother and I had to figure out how to pay and if we even could afford it. Other than that, the quality of the program was amazing and certainly memorable!

I feel there is amazing potential to carve and craft the perfect program to suit one's needs and wishes for the kind of career they want to pursue. The core classes, while not always relevant to the career path we're going for, are a great example of the kinds of information we should know about regardless in our professional lives. The ability to cross-select classes from other schools is also a plus, however, making sure to read reviews and be mindful of various teachers and TAs is very important... Read More

NEU offers great flexibility for the working student. I was able to successfully work full-time and go to school full-time, graduating within 2 years. The abundance of courses are wonderful and the professors are among the best in their field! I do think they can improve career services as many students are scrambling to find employment during and after the program. I am personally not affected by this but some of my classmates are. Overall, this is a great program and I highly recommend it to anyone... Read More

The program overall is informative and instructive in public policy and urban affairs, and poses some real constructive questions around one's leadership capacity in the public and nonprofit sectors. I feel it lacks strong opportunities for networking among professionals, students and events. This seems to be a developing program and will no doubt meet these challenges and needs.

Northeastern University is the perfect setting for anyone studying Public Administration. You can't beat Boston, and the professors and alumni are great in helping students find internships and jobs.

My graduate program does a fantastic job of keeping in touch with students, promoting community amongst students and dealing with student issues in regard to faculty. However the program falls short in networking for internships and careers, there's a lot of independent work placed on the student to find these things independently. There aren't many resources for assistance with cover letters, resumes, and interviews within the program.

My school has a competitive faculty who have amazing life experiences (i.e. MA Governor Michael Dukakis is a professor) and can share those experiences with the students, which is priceless. One con is the financial aid department - they are not very good at communicating and that makes it highly difficult for a working student to meet with them and work a full time job.
