My experience at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was filled with some highs and lows, but overall I really enjoyed my time there. The campus itself is beautiful with tons of nature, bike trails, and hiking paths all over. Theres even a lake that you can fish right on campus, and so pretty in the summer. The academics rate highly among the nations schools, esspecially Nursing, Engineering, and Business.

SIUE is a very diverse school and highly accredited. They have a wide variety of courses and student programs that allow you to explore your education. However, I found their student advisors and the department who oversees student enrollment to be lacking. I transferred in from a local community college with an associate degree already completed. Yet, my student advisor at the time told me I needed to take basic entry classes I'd already completed during my associate degree. This was frustrating,... Read More
Negativity aside, SIUE has a beautiful campus with lots of local nature spots that are within walking distance. The culture and environment on campus are also very enjoyable.

I learned a lot through the great professors here and was able to make a lot of good friends. Going to school here did open some doors for cool performance opportunities in the area and in St. Louis, but overall, I felt that the degree I pursued did not prepare me very well for the professional environment. I struggled to find a job in the field right out of college and ultimately ended up back at my summer job, where I currently still am. I am hopeful that work opportunities will come along in the... While I enjoyed SIUE, the job market just doesn't support Mass Comm majors. I have had to rely on my trade skill as a pharmacy technician. Luckily for me, I have been able to make great money and continue to learn more and more skills in the pharmaceutical and medical world. I am very satisfied with the schooling I received as SIUE and I would still recommend to others, but I would just want people to do their research before committing.

Unfortunately the mba program was extension of undergrad study with mostly busy work to consume time. Having worked in executive level positions for twenty years was looking for something that would provide professional value. The educators are primarily teachers and not business professionals. Program was disappointing.

SIUe has an excellent business school if that's what you like. Honestly, I think SIUe is very proud of their business programs. I never had any issues with any of the professors, and I found them helpful when I needed help. The business school has a separate three-story building located on campus. Classes are in many sizes. For basic courses like the intro to marketing or macro and microeconomics, you will find yourself in a lecture hall with many many students. Later your junior and senior year... Read More

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Elementary Education program at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville. The campus is incredibly beautiful. On occasion, I would be walking to my car from class and come across a herd of deer grazing. During the fall, the trees and grounds are covered with shades of gold, red, and brown. Truly stunning. As for the Elementary Education program itself, I really appreciated the dedication of the staff. During my time in the program, the requirements for certification... Read More

My college experience was definitely challenging. I initially wanted to go to pharmacy school, but applied to multiple schools on two separate occasions and didn't get in. Afterwards, I decided to grad school which I enjoyed even more than undergrad. The classes were more specific to my discipline and I really enjoyed my research that I did.

I thoroughly enjoyed the RN-BSN program. This program was manageable while working full time and with 4 children. The instructors were easily accessible as well as understanding and committed to the success of the student. Assignments were clear and graded in a timely fashion. I truly believe that this program is well worth your time and money, and what I gained from the program was definitely applicable to my current career.
