The University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (uiuc) is and was an excellent place to attend school but is not for everyone. It is level one research institution and as one of the largest state universities in the country there is no shortage of opportunities. The amount of research done there means there is no shortage of opportunities to build your resume and there is always interesting work being done somewhere. The size can work for or against people, a large University means more opportunities... Read More

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has an enormous atmosphere of opportunity. There is so much to be involved with socially, recreationally, and academically. I was a pre-med biology major. There is so much opportunity for research and volunteering. Outside of my major, I was also exposed to some of the best engineering and agricultural resources, which was really eye-opening to see other career paths and innovation. The social scene is incredible. Greek life is massive, but so many options... Read More

I am sure that the University has changed much since I attended, but I loved the experience, the school and the town. I felt at home and valued the education I received there. I had excellent instructors and took classes that were interesting to me. I would highly recommend it, but it has since become increasingly expensive.

My degree highly prepared me to perform medical research and eventually get accepted into medical school. I am grateful for the diversity on campus and the challenging courses. I wish my advisors had given me more insight to osteopathic medicine, as that is what I will be pursuing this fall.

U of I is awesome. Great social life but also a great place to learn. The professors are awesome, the people are fun, and the greek life is like no other. It is a big school though, so gen ed classes will have hundreds of students in them. I didn't mind though

Honestly I was more interested in microbiology but U of I did not offer that as a major. The molecular and cellular biology major is chemistry-heavy. I would have benefited from a lot more assistance with considering my graduate school options as well, and ended up stalling after receiving my degree.
