I enjoyed my time at UofL. I had some professors who really pushed me to be the best student I could be, and cared about my learning. and who showed up every day and really made sure I learned something. On the other hand, I had other professors within my major who weren't so great. UofL socially definitely has something for everyone, but safety on campus was always a concern for me, being in a city that isn't always so safe. Masters of Accounting (MAC) is a 13 month program that was previously removed and brought back for 2019 with an entirely new concept to include accounting/analytics. Classes are in the evening 6-9:30pm about 2-3 times a week. Each class once a week, about 10x total, so you must learn a lot of information at once. There is with minimal homework/exams; there's a heavy focus on group-based projects/presentations/papers. Students are given Becker Unlimited to self-study for the CPA exam online throughout... Read More the program. LIKES + Cohort-based that is close-knit + Nice knowledgeable faculty + Ability to work full time and go to school + Becker and study abroad included in tuition + Large city with job opportunities DISLIKES - No choice in electives - No recruiting help for MAC students - CPA Schedule expected is unrealistic - Classes doesn't correlate with CPA study plan (ex: Financial Statement class taken when we're studying for BEC) Honestly, this MAC is more of an MBA with a focus in Accounting. MAC students do take non-accounting classes with MBAs (ex: Excel, Communications) except the name is changed on the transcript from MBA XXX into MAC XXX. Difference is that MAC tuition is less than MBAs, has 4 accounting courses, no elective options, and includes Becker Unlimited. It's a great way to work, go to school, and study for the CPA simultaneously if you have the dedication to focus. Having to juggle all three is why I believe the CPA pass rate is slightly lower than other programs that don't allow the flexibility to work full-time. I think its best for working young professionals needing more credits to reach 150 credits for the CPA, or actually need a Masters. I don't recommend for those who are solely looking to pass the CPA exam that already have 150 hours, as the curriculum wont help you pass. Courses focus more on skills valuable in the workplace, rather than focusing 100% on accounting classes as other MAC programs do. The fact that it includes Becker Unlimited and study abroad in tuition is a great deal. As someone who recently graduated undergrad and now in the MAC program, this was a great way to start my career, rather than waiting until graduation. Plus, I could use my new job to pay tuition. My cohort is very close, like a second family (#southernhospitality), which made it worth it. Overall, I do recommend this program as it has a lot of potential, great overall value.

I came to the University of Louisville after earning an Associate Degree at a Community College. I felt that I had little direction and that I was at a significant disadvantage because I was entering a new school as a junior. However, I quickly fell in love with the school and the program. The Art History program quickly provided me with a sense of community and purpose, with a diverse student body and faculty. Further, the training that I received at the University of Louisville vastly sharpened... Read More my critical thinking and problem solving skills. The curriculum required to earn the degree set me up to succeed in the job market, providing me with a well rounded education on the history of art. The professors were always gracious with their time, ensuring that all of my concerns were heard and always going the extra mile to provide support or recommendations to prospective employers. In addition to the program, the campus was easily accessible by public transportation, which was free with my student ID. Also, the Student Recreation Center is a first-rate training facility with a large weight room, in-door track, and multiple levels of basketball courts. As an urban campus, the University of Louisville still provides plenty of much needed green space, and is steps away from Old Louisville, one of Louisville's most charming neighborhoods. Because of its location, there is a large variety of restaurants and diners around on top of the on-campus dining options. In addition, the Speed Art Museum is right on campus and allows free admission to University of Louisville students.

The physics program is great. The counselors are very helpful and the classes are hard without being hopelessly and frustratingly difficult, which can not be said for a lot of programs here. However, the physics program is the best part of my experience at this school. I've had endless difficulties with the professors outside of my major, and the financial aid department single-handledly halted my education for 3 semesters now. The University of Louisville provided me with an all-encompassing degree in both the Psychology and Sociology fields. The professors were very knowledgeable and eager to teach the students. One downfall of the University is regarding their advising system. Throughout my undergrad, I was never advised by someone in the Psychology or Sociology departments, therefore my advising was never in line with my undergrad path. I hope that in the time since I've graduated that they have been able to improve... Read More upon this area.
