Do not waste your time and money at this school. Campus is nice and the town is great, Everything else sucks. If you have a disability, good luck contacting SARC in a reasonable time, getting someone to answer the phone, or to get a call/email back. The school also forces you to buy things to make up their deficit for constructing a new building ($320 flex plan even though I live off campus). The faculty (not always including professors) are extremely rude, do not care, and will treat your student... Read More like a 4 year old. 91³ÉÈË classes are a joke as professors put in 0 effort but expect you to have everything figured out. They will assign you a book to read, recycle mcgrawl hill content, and say "if you have questions email me." 0 lectures, 0 power points, and will force you to either pay for parking to take an exam or spend $27 to take it online. If you have a disability and miss class because of it, professor generally do not care unless you have anxiety or adhd. If you miss 3 classes they generally drop you from the course. If your professor has 8 quizzes but doesn't count 2 of them towards your grade, if you are required to miss a quizz due to medical reason (I had to go see a specialist for my health) they will give you a 0 and say "its just how I do things, since I don't count 2 quizzes this won't hurt you." The school also doesn't provide nutrition sheets to the meals that they force you to buy. Good luck getting a parking pass as I've been on a waitlist for almost a year now and almost half their parking are pay meters instead of a spot a student can purchase. But hey, tuition is a little cheaper.

Would highly recommend not giving this school your money. Not sure how other departments are, but the MFGE instructors have a 'holier than thou' mentality paired with poor online instruction. Majority provided 0 lesson plans/help, relied on sites like Mcgraw Hill instead of actually teaching themselves. It's not hard to video a lecture and post it for online students to review. Advisor has 0 respect for students, even though I can gaurentee I triple his yearly salary at half his age. Will not return... Read More to this school if I decide to further my education. At WKU I feel like the education program was great. However, the requirements that were established for an English/Literature emphasis I believe were entirely too rigorous. I was taking 18-19 hours per semester, and felt overwhelmed with all of the work I had to do just so I could graduate in the 4 years. WKU's tuition rates I believe were also super inflated compared to it's competitors in size and geographical area. However, I enjoyed my time at the school. I just felt overall, that the school... Read More focused more on what the campus looked like, and the sports programs, that truly helping improve the programs and offerings for educational purposes.

The school itself has some amazing teachers, with some amazing knowledge of the subjects they teach. It is the higher up you go the more problems begin to show. The college continually changes their budget and have recently been cutting programs constantly. Tuition is on the rise and it was already high before then. For some reason they have also decided to force meal plans upon students who are not living on campus now. This is something you have to pay for out of pocket and is not included in financial... Read More aid packages it was $750 a semester, but has risen since 2018. There is also a $300 fee for taking online classes, and this is per class. If a student has to take online courses due to work scheduling or whatever they will be adding up to an additional $1200 a semester.

This program was excellent in teaching you what you need to know before getting out in the real world. They taught you how to slow down and due self-care, so you would not get burnt out. This school taught me to be myself and that it is okay to have a mental break down every now and then, but that you should get back up and keep trying. They worked with me on setting up flexible internships that worked around my busy schedule. They provided me with excellent support not just from there on campus... Read More options, but also from there staff. My program colleagues became not just my friends, but also my family. We had grown close, they were the best support system I could ask for outside of my family. I would recommend this college for everyone. I feel that everyone would feel welcome going to this college because they are one of the most diverse universities in the state. There is always an organization or club that you can join. The classes are flexible with times and dates that are offered. I was able to do my program at an off campus sight, which helped making achieving my degree a lot easier. I was a new wife and mother when I went threw the program and they were helpful in providing me the support and resources I needed, in order to successfully complete my degree. So keep your head up you will make it through it. Stay committed and focused and you will watch yourself grow not just as a person, but also as a professional. I wish you the best in your indeavors. Western Kentucky University is an amazing school, and one I'm proud to have attended. I received my bachelor of arts in History with a minor in English, and had the opportunity to learn from an incredible assortment of professors who helped shape my course of study in a positive way. Read More sizes and relatable professors, WKU becomes a great place for any student to attend. The campus offers many on campus dorms and apartments and is known to have a great social scene. The university boasts of its football team, which has won four straight bowl games. WKU is known for its College of Business, Nursing Program and school of Journalism. Recently the university has added minors such as "Brewing." Overall, I really enjoyed my four years on campus and would recommend the university to anyone who was interested!
