The best thing about a grad prog at KU is the close ties the School of Education has to the schools in the state which keeps faculty up-to-date and provides opportunities for student development. The program is rigorous and if you're in for a free ride, this is not a program for you. The uni being set in Lawrence, which is diverse and easier on the pocket than many other unis is a big plus too.

Overall I think my graduate program is good. The teachers are knowledgable and have an interest in helping their students succeed. The academic work is acceptable- about what I would expect in a graduate program. The only thing I have come across that is problematic is the financial affordability of being here. The University of Kansas has a great music therapy program. KU has one of the best music therapy programs in the country and I am looking forward to the receiving the rest of my education at KU. Unfortunately for there is not adequate financial aid provided for the graduate equivalency program. Being an out of state student, with out an undergraduate degree in music therapy, my financial expenses are more than the maximum FAFSA financial aid I am able to receive. Loving my classes so far, only complaint is the cost, but it is comparable to other universities in the area. Overall best education for your money!
