I feel it is a good program. There is a lot of work but I feel I will be ready when I graduate. They do a lot to support our field. It is in a big city so with the little free time we have there is a lot to do.

Pros: Excellent knowledgeable professors with a full open door policy. The program feels like a big family. Small cadaver groups, local clinical opportunities, small class size and challenging curriculum. Cons: Lack of interdisciplinary approach to learning. We do not study with nursing or med students often.

Our class size is very small - we have only 30 people per class. This facilitates greater peer relationships, a camaraderie in which everyone wants to see everyone else succeed, and close professional relationships with our faculty member. The campus is beautiful and provides many different quiet studying spots to enjoy the beautiful Florida day.

This program is excellent for preparing students to be entry-level doctors of physical therapy. Having experienced multiple internships thus far, I have seen how UNF students compare to DPT students from other colleges, and I feel we are much more prepared to handle patients than some others. Our program has a great reputation for graduation rate, passing rate on the National Physical Therapy Exam, and percentage of students hired following graduation.

The UNF physical therapy program has some of the best faculty out there. The Jacksonville area has many experts in the field of PT who often come as guest lectures (vestibular rehab, women's health, ect). The area is very nice and the campus is beautiful. Class sizes are small (-30). There are many volunteer opportunities with various programs, such as adaptive sports.

The DPT program at UNF is excellent and very much under-rated among nation rankings. The vast majority of the faculty are excellent and the program's graduates seem to be well-esteemed by local employers. Jacksonville as a city supplies all of the fun that a DPT student has time for. The only problem with the city is that it lacks a decent variety of good off-campus study areas. UNF is a growing program with excellent leadership which has been a good source of motivation for me as a student.

The Pros is that the school is beautiful and Jacksonville is amazing living right by the beach. The cons is that it is a commuter school, so you never get the real college feeling. Parking is expensive and there are a lot of hidden fees.

Our program has a very intense and rigorous curriculum. There are only 30 people in the program each year. With such a small class we have a very hands on experience with teachers that are always available and a close-nit environment between the students. We are constantly challenged and are forced to push ourselves further than we knew was possible. I am confident that at the end of our three year cohort we will be the best Physical Therapists that we could possibly be.
