How We Rank "Best" Schools
The 91成人 research team verifies that only institutionally accredited schools offering at least one fully online associate in paralegal degree make the cut. On top of that, schools must also have at least five verified student reviews and an aggregate rating of 2.5+ on a five-point scale. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.
We prioritize the most relevant student feedback by starting with reviews tied to the exact program and degree level. If too few associate in paralegal qualify, we gradually expand the review pool to include related programs or other degree levels, while preserving the most program-specific results at the top of the list. This process continues until all eligible review data has been considered.
We also manually research all tuition rates and include median earnings for paralegal majors five years after graduation when that data is available. By presenting the most complete data available, we aim to give you an honest, well-rounded picture of each program.

Stories Behind the Best 91成人 Paralegal Associate Degrees: An Editorial Analysis
An Early Model for ABA-Approved 91成人 Study
University of Alaska Fairbanks
UAF states that its program was among the first ABA-approved paralegal programs to offer a 100% online curriculum. The school also notes that fewer than one-quarter of paralegal education programs have earned ABA approval. UAF reinforces this online model with instruction from lawyers, judges, and working paralegals, while students complete a required 150-hour internship before graduating.
Other schools in the ranking also offer ABA-approved online pathways, but UAF鈥檚 history as an early adopter gives it a particularly notable position in the development of accessible, profession-aligned paralegal education.
Legal Training Through Community Service
Davenport University
Davenport distinguishes itself through the Davenport Estate Planning Services initiative, which gives legal studies students an opportunity to help prepare free estate planning documents for underserved community members. The university reports that students have contributed approximately $100,000 in free legal services through the initiative over five years.
This experience moves beyond classroom simulations by connecting students with legal work that produces a tangible community benefit. It also gives them exposure to document preparation, client needs, professional responsibility, and estate planning procedures within a service-oriented setting. (In addition, Davenport鈥檚 program has held ABA approval since 1994 and is taught by practicing attorneys and retired legal professionals.)
A 14-Month Paralegal Degree
Marian University
Marian offers the fastest clearly stated completion timeline in the ranking. Its 66-credit online paralegal associate degree can be finished in as few as 14 months, compared with the roughly two-year schedules most commonly associated with associate programs online and otherwise. Marian supports that pace through accelerated five- and eight-week course blocks and nine start dates each year, allowing students to begin without waiting for a traditional semester.
What Law Firm Leaders Expect From 91成人 Paralegal Students
In interviews with attorney Martin Gasparian of Maison Law Modesto and Justin Lovely of The Lovely Law Firm, two legal professionals shared practical advice for students pursuing online paralegal associate degrees. From mastering industry-standard software to building real-world experience before graduation, both highlight how initiative and discipline (rather than the virtual format of your education) determine your success in the legal field.
鈥淚 Don鈥檛 Care If Your Degree Was Earned 91成人 or in Person.鈥
Attorney & Law Firm Owner
"91成人 paralegal students need to prove they're job-ready before graduation. That starts with learning the same tools we use in practice: Clio, MyCase, Needles, and Excel. Know how to draft discovery, organize medical records, and prepare deposition summaries. If you lack real-world experience, create your work samples. Show you know how to think like a legal professional, not a student.
I don't care if your degree was earned online or in person. I care if you can hit deadlines, write clearly, and track details across multiple cases. I've worked with paralegals from both backgrounds who are excellent at what they do. The difference always comes down to discipline and initiative, not the format of their education.
Without face-to-face networking, online students must be proactive:
-
Volunteer at legal aid clinics.
-
Ask local lawyers for 15 minutes of their time.
-
Track firms online and comment on posts to begin conversations.
-
Prove you're committed.
In this line of work, follow-through and precision matter more than a line on your resume.
If you're considering an associate or a bachelor's in legal studies, consider the career you want. Associate degrees suffice to get employed if you add comparable software skills, certifications, or internships to them. If you want long-term development or law school, the bachelor's serves you well. Don't, however, think that the degree in itself works for you. Your work will.
Show me what you can do. I'll take that over a classroom any day."
鈥淎n 91成人 Degree Is Just as Valuable as a Campus-Based One鈥
Attorney & Law Firm Owner
"As an attorney and someone who is very familiar with legal hiring and the demands of the profession, my advice is simple. If you are studying for an online paralegal degree, then you will have to show initiative, go beyond the classroom, don鈥檛 sit back and wait for your program to offer you an internship, and actively seek one.
[An] online degree allows students to develop stronger digital literacy. It also boosts their comfort level with online client calls, which is an essential skill in today's legal landscape.
Don鈥檛 focus on what you will earn for this; rather, focus on what you will learn. Every single thing that you work on, even if it is unpaid, becomes experience, and this is what you can put on your resume to support your degree. This will also assist you if you don鈥檛 have prior experience or you don鈥檛 have a sufficient network.
In today鈥檚 digital landscape, an online degree is just as valuable as a campus-based one. Especially if they are from an ABA-approved program. The reason is that they follow the same curriculum and uphold the same academic standard as an on-campus course. The biggest difference is that an online degree allows students to develop stronger digital literacy. It also boosts their comfort level with online client calls, which is an essential skill in today's legal landscape.
Choosing between an associate degree and a bachelor's is a very important decision. An associate degree is best suited to those who are confident in their chosen practice and are willing to gain experience on the job. A bachelor鈥檚 degree is for those who are in it for the long haul; it will open more doors, and it comes with higher earning potential."

I've enjoyed my time at Bryan University online Great instructors and higher learning. I recommend it for everyone who wants to get higher education because they have you do two courses at a time which help a lot for people who have jobs and children.

An absolute nightmare of a school. I chose Purdue for the name - to be completely honest. And the dream that the ACTUAL school Purdue believes in. The success of their students. Purdue Global however is horrendous. The professors are wonderful. 91成人 school - terrible. They took out a loan of $1,004 for me and still say I owe them money, when they took out the loan to pay it. So I have no idea where or who got that $1,004. It wasn't me, apparently wasn't the school either. So? They also work to... Read More

This was the most expensive online college I have seen the online experience was ok but the price was outrageous. I have since switched to liberty University and I'm completely satisfied with the price of tuition and staff. It seems like Bryant and Stratton is a for profit college I wouldn't recommend.

I found Rio Salado college a very affordable way to get my associates degree. The online format is very flexible and easy to follow. Most instructors provide great feedback and timely communication. The text book saving program really helps with finance as well. Financial aid and academic advisers are always available. They have several different testing centers so there's usually something close to home. All of the testing centers are clean and well appointed. The disability resource staffVery helpful.... Read More

I loved going to Bryan online, they do almost everything they can to help you succeed in what you are doing. The only problem I had was that they don't tell you before you start your classes that they don't give out financial aid stipends until after six months, during which time I struggled to pay the bills and had to depend on the kindness of family and friends, then I got sick and had to withdraw, so they told me to come back, but since it would be another six months before they gave me any money... I'm not sure if it's a language barrier or if some of the instructors are just incompetent. I found that anytime I asked for clarification of an assignment the instructor either repeated the poorly written instructions with the existing grammatical errors or the instructor wouldn't clarify the instructions until after my interpretation of the assignment was submitted. After I was accepted into the college's paralegal studies program in the summer of 2016 I noticed that who ever was in charge of the... Read More

I started classes with Hodges University on the fall 2013 after trying to enroll with at least 3 other online universities. I declined the others because there was always something I didn't totally like about them. I don't have any complaints about the school, finances, professors, etc. I think Hodges is a good university, the staff and professors are friendly and helpful. The finances are well organized, they have schedules for refunds (this is something of interest) so whatever is supposed to be... Read More
