I am fortunate to be in a wonderful program that carries very few disadvantages or cons. One disadvantage of my program is that research opportunities are very limited. The availability of faculty and the small class sizes are wonderful at Waynesburg. It fosters a strong rapport between fellow students, which is important in the counseling profession. I am confident the degree I come away with from Waynesburg will provide me with the skills and background I need to do well in the field. The faculty are the best part. The faculty are connected to the local school districts and provide very real and practical activities to promote your job prospects in the future. The graduate programs also prepare you quite well for entry into a more rigorous doctoral program anywhere in the country. The school is growing and will eventually feel more social than it has in the past.

I really enjoyed the classes at Argosy and was very happy that I was able to complete my internship at a school over the summer as I worked at a Department of Defense school in Germany at the time and could not do the internship during the regular school year. Argosy instructors were extremely supportive and former counselors who gave me real world skills I could use immediately when I eventually became a guidance counselor.

The doctoral program in Counseling at ODU is a CACREP accreditted program. The program has been recognized nationally as one of the strongest Counseling doctoral programs. The program faculty are notable leaders in the Counseling field with noted publications and books. The CES program is recognized as a leader in producting quality PhDs in the Counseling field. The graduate program - Counseling Psychology - was great and worked with students who had full time jobs and families very well. They made it manageable for those at that stage of life as well as challenging enough for those wanting to speed through and go onto a doctorate degree. Faculty were extremely personable!

I love the MS in Mental Health Counseling program at Old Westbury. I like structure so it was good to not have to figure out my schedule because that was already done. The professors and faculty are great, including the director of the program. SFASU was a wonderful place to receive an Master's Degree. I learned a lot and had the opportunity to meet some wonderful students and professors. I would recommend this University to other's due to the professors and the people that are associated with this university. They have developed a really great practicum and internship program that the students can do on campus to help get their hours for Counseling.
