How We Rank "Most Affordable" Schools

%%YEAR%% Most Affordable 91³ÉÈË %%LEVEL_NAME%% in %%PROGRAM_NAME%% Badge

The 91³ÉÈË research team manually collects and verifies tuition data for every school on our lists, ensuring you see accurate, up-to-date costs whether you're pursuing an associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program. To qualify, schools must offer fully online degrees, hold institutional accreditation, and have verifiable enrollment data through the National Center for Education Statistics. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.

We prioritize schools that offer a consistent tuition rate across programs at the same degree level, so you're not caught off guard by unexpected price differences between majors, and for graduate programs we go a step further by individually calculating program costs since credit requirements and fees vary widely.

Affordable 91³ÉÈË Marketing Degrees: The Data Trends That Stand Out

An affordable online marketing degree can provide you with skills in consumer behavior, market research, digital strategy, and brand management but at a reasonable price tag that won't break the bank.

Our list above already narrows down the cheapest options in the U.S. for getting a marketing degree online from an accredited school. Using this list as a starting point, we want to help you make the most informed decision based on other data we've collected.

If you want to explore more options in this field, we also curated a list of the best online marketing degrees based on where graduates are the most successful.

Salary and ROI Considerations

Let's start with the context of affordability to get a clearer picture of tuition costs among the schools on our list with marketing degrees online:

Next, we are looking at federally available earnings data from the marketing students who graduate from each of the programs we listed. Importantly, this salary information comes just four years after graduation. And, we can only share the data that's available federally. (Some schools, unfortunately, don't report.)

Marketing careers often reward experience, portfolios, and early time in the field. So if you enter a program that lets you graduate with minimal debt, you can take internships, entry-level roles, or commission-heavy sales paths without the same monthly loan pressure after the fact.

WCU costs $1,250 a year with reported median earnings around $57,435. The price of entry is so unusually low here. Meanwhile, the salary is really decent on a national scale, where the average U.S. salary sits at $49,500.

UF is an option with very low tuition and also very high earnings. Its yearly tuition is just $3,357, while earnings among marketing grads are around $75,201. That's in the 78th percentile nationwide among marketing majors.

In the same earnings-driven tier, USU (~$77,882) and UVU (~$81,525) sit near the top of the reported outcomes while still keeping tuition in the high-$7K to low-$8K range.

What Roles Can You Get With One of These 91³ÉÈË Marketing Bachelor's Degrees?

Marketing is a field where outcomes can vary dramatically. For example, are you most interested in creative roles, analytics-heavy roles, sales leadership, or management? When you can see the potential careers and salaries side-by-side, it becomes easier to visualize what kind of program you're looking for (which we'll discuss in more detail below).

The following salary data comes from the (BLS):

The online marketing bachelor's programs on our list above tend to tilt toward different corners of the marketing world. Some lean into persuasion and creative production, while others focus in on selling and revenue, analytics and measurement, or project coordination.

If a student is aiming for the advertising and promotions side of marketing — the path that often feeds into creative strategy roles — UF is one of the closest matches on our list. The literal name of the program is an online Bachelor of Science in Advertising with a concentration in Persuasive Messaging. The description highlights strategy, branding, research, analytics, and digital perspectives. This is ideal if you want a job where you’re shaping audience behavior and building campaigns. Another good option is UHD, which perhaps fits into this lane in a more customizable way because it lets students choose a creative emphasis, which includes promotional strategy, personal selling, and advertising.

If you want a more sales-forward track (or roles more involved in revenue targets and relationship management), WCU is the most direct route. A dedicated specialization in professional selling and sales management, simulated selling scenarios, and real partnerships point to preparation that maps to early-career selling roles and a longer runway toward sales manager positions. FHSU and UVU also lean into this revenue side, as both mention coursework that covers strategic selling, sales analytics, and sales management.

If your goal is to move into measurement-heavy marketing work, like market research analysts, then LU and USU are perhaps the most intentional fits for this role. LU’s description covers analytics tooling and methods (SAS, JMP, Tableau, AI, web scraping, database queries, experimental design), which is essentially the skill language of market research and performance measurement. Meanwhile, USU covers a broader digital/IT integration scope, suggesting preparation for roles where marketing is tied to data, systems, and decision-making. Programs like UTPB and Trine reinforce this same direction through microcredentials and embedded certifications.

For students whose interests overlap with creative production and brand visuals, our list has one program that stands out. If you want to be a graphic designer or even an art director, look at A-State. Its summary covers UX/UI, front-end web development, multimedia production, app builds, and portfolio work. In contrast, most of the other online marketing programs delve more into business foundations and market-facing strategy.

Marketing Expert Q&A: How to Choose an Affordable Bachelor’s in Marketing That Builds Real Skills

David Fei is a lead generation digital marketing consultant based on Sydney, Australia. What should students look for in an affordable bachelor’s in marketing program online?

"Find a program that emphasizes real-world application over theory. Skills you learn in a hands-on program are immediately useful and valuable to employers. Look for programs with marketing-experienced teachers in addition to the curriculum. Major brand or agency professionals may have useful, up-to-date information that academic professors may not."

How should online marketing students think about using AI?

"[Students] should prioritize AI in marketing with a critical mind. Marketing basics like consumer psychology, brand strategy, and storytelling are best to start with. Learn how AI can aid those basics, not vice versa.

AI tools are often pursued without knowing their marketing benefits. A good marketer goes beyond using AI to create ads. They also improve the AI with their market segmentation and strategy expertise. It's enough to be a good marketer who can use AI to accelerate and improve proven strategies."

How important is data literacy for marketing students at the bachelor's level?

"Understanding performance requires the ability to read and understand data, but I believe it is even more important for leaders to recognize that data only tells part of the story.

The most useful and rare skill today is the ability to identify what the data does not show, such as the human and business context, unspoken needs, and drivers that do not appear on a dashboard. A true leader can create a strong brand and make bold, creative decisions that data alone cannot fully explain because they possess strategic intuition, which combines quantitative analysis with qualitative human insight."

EXPERT TIP

"Speak to someone in the industry... Go work at a marketing agency or startup. These environments will accelerate your career by presenting multiple, simultaneous challenges that give you direct access to in-demand skill streams."

FAQs About Affordable Marketing Degrees 91³ÉÈË

How Do I Choose an Affordable 91³ÉÈË Bachelor's in Marketing?

Choosing an affordable online bachelor's in marketing program should be done with care. You'll want to take several factors into consideration, such as tuition cost and other fees, availability of financial aid, online format, and support services offered by the school.

It's also essential to choose a school that's been institutionally accredited. Enrollment in an accredited school is required if you plan to apply for financial aid, transfer to another university, or pursue a graduate degree. All of the schools listed on our website, including those listed above, are accredited.

Many reputable institutions offer bachelor's in marketing degrees online. These programs are designed to provide flexibility for working professionals and those with other commitments. 91³ÉÈË marketing degrees often mirror their on-campus counterparts in terms of content, resources, and learning outcomes.

Determining whether an online marketing degree is worth the value depends mostly on your goals and priorities. From a personal standpoint, you'll graduate with the skills and knowledge you'll need to launch a career in an exciting field. From a financial standpoint, your degree should help you advance in your career, enabling you to earn a respectable salary that yields a high return on your financial investment. To enhance your degree's ROI, consider minimizing the cost by choosing an affordable online marketing degree.

How Much Does an 91³ÉÈË Marketing Bachelor's Degree Cost?

On our table of 2026 most affordable online marketing degrees, the annual tuition ranges a lot depending on residency:

  • In-state tuition: $1,250 to $8,970 per year (across the 20 schools listed)
  • Out-of-state tuition: $5,100 to $20,055 per year (among schools that list an out-of-state rate)

If you stay at the same tuition level for a typical four-year marketing bachelor's program, your estimated total tuition range will be $5,000 to $35,880 if you are in-state and $20,400 to $80,220 if you are out-of-state.

If you want the lowest available cost for a marketing program online, Western Carolina University ($1,250/year) is the cheapest currently in the nation. That's for in-state students, though. The lowest annual out-of-state rate is $5,100 at California Coast University, which actually lists the same rate for both residents and non-residents.

What Are the Admission Requirements for Marketing Degrees?

The admission requirements for online marketing bachelor's programs are fairly consistent across most colleges and universities. Some of the common requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a high school GPA of at least 2.8, and high scores on the SAT or ACT college entrance exams.

When you submit your application online, you may be asked to provide a personal essay, a list of extracurricular activities and achievements, and one or more letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, or work supervisors.

How Can You Lower the Cost of an 91³ÉÈË Marketing Bachelor’s Degree?

Earning your online marketing bachelor's degree is a major investment of time and money that requires careful planning. The following five suggestions may help you minimize the cost of your undergraduate education and save money while you're in college:

  1. One way to save money is to pursue an online degree like those on the list of the most affordable marketing degrees above. Tuition is by far the most expensive part of going to college, but many schools charge lower tuition rates if you attend school online. Also, by studying remotely, you eliminate other expenses like room and board and transportation to and from school.
  2. When looking at program options, consider attending a public university. Recent NCES data for the 2022-23 academic year show that average tuition and required fees at public four-year colleges were , compared with $35,248 at private four-year colleges. This means that public schools cost about 72% less.
  3. One of the biggest benefits of attending school online is that you can live wherever you choose, so you're able to move to a location with a lower cost of living. Relocating to an affordable city or town could help you save money on rent, food, and other common living expenses.
  4. Your total education costs may be lower if you choose to complete your general education requirements at a community college. During the first two years of a bachelor's program, you'll need to take about 20 courses in basic subjects like writing, algebra, and data literacy. You could complete these courses online at any community college and later transfer to a four-year school to finish your bachelor's degree.
  5. Consider working at a part-time or full-time job while you're in school. Although going to school part-time has its benefits and drawbacks, using your income to pay at least part of your college expenses may allow you to minimize or possibly avoid student loan debt.

What Do You Learn in an 91³ÉÈË Marketing Bachelor’s Degree Program?

Marketing is a dynamic and essential field, and online bachelor's degrees in marketing provide a comprehensive education in both the theory and practice of marketing. As a student in one of these programs, you'll gain a blend of technical skills such as market research, digital marketing, and data analysis, as well as soft skills like communication, creativity, and strategic thinking.

Most likely, you'll develop these skills through a variety of projects and assignments that may include creating marketing campaigns, analyzing case studies, and engaging in simulations that mimic real-world marketing challenges. This blend of coursework prepares you to handle the diverse demands of the marketing industry.

You may notice that an online marketing degree can be either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS). BA degrees in marketing tend to focus on overarching business strategies that rely on creative marketing to be more effective. Conversely, BS programs in marketing typically involve a great deal of quantitative analysis related to consumer purchasing trends, market research, and social media engagement.

An online marketing bachelor's degree usually requires the completion of 120 credit hours, and a few programs include an internship. Full-time learners may need four or five years to meet all of the graduation requirements, while part-time students often need an additional year.

Among the courses commonly found in a bachelor's in marketing program are the following:

  • Digital Marketing: This course introduces students to the world of online advertising, social media marketing, and email campaigns. Students learn about the strategies and tools used to effectively reach and engage customers in the digital space.
  • Consumer Behavior: Understanding how and why consumers make purchasing decisions is critical to successful marketing. In this course, students explore psychological, social, and cultural factors that influence consumer behavior and how this knowledge can be applied to develop effective marketing strategies.
  • Market Research: This course teaches students how to design and conduct research to gather data about market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics. Skills developed include survey design, data analysis, and interpretation of findings to inform marketing decisions.
  • Strategic Brand Management: Students learn about the importance of branding and how to manage brand equity. The course covers topics such as brand positioning, brand architecture, and how to measure and manage brand value.

As an alternative to a bachelor's in marketing, you may be interested in an online digital marketing bachelor's degree.

I have read several of the responses and dont understand what people are complaining about. Overall I think this school is well ran and it's pretty easy to get help, I guess if you know where to look. The instructors could be a little better, you can tell this is a second job for a lot of them, but overall, most of them have doctorates and will work with you in all sorts of ways to help you be successful. Overall, this is a good school, and I was a little surprised by some of the comments. Alot of... Read More

The schools admissions process is terrible. Staff members are unaware of how to find online transcripts until the student has to threaten to speak to higher ups. Then all of sudden they can find after two weeks of you asking them status updates. Once you get your transcript you have to do a credit appeal because they don’t give you everything you earn. The credit appeal process is a joke. They tell you it will take UP TO TWO WEEKS to finish the review and exactly at the two week mark they inform... Read More

I chose this school because it was 100% paid for by the company I work for and it took exactly 23 months for me to graduate. Below are a few things to consider: -Advisors will not hold your hand and walk you through the start of each class. If you reach out they are definitely helpful and respond quickly. -The work is easy as long as you put in the time and effort. One class every fives weeks expect roughly 10-15 hours a week of homework/ dedication. -Professor assistance if 50/50. Some go out of... Read More

I am a veteran, and have been using my benefits to pay for school. I noticed a lot of the bad reviews have been associated with money. I cannot really attest to the validity of that because I am not paying out of pocket. Other than that, the course work is flexible. It is clear cut and still lets you have a life while earning a degree. I do sometimes question the credibility of the college just because it is a for profit college. I have not had any issues yet. Absolute garbage experience. WGU is a great school for adults who need to finish a degree quickly and affordably... however, there are a few things you need to be aware of. To begin, you will need to prepare yourself to work primarily on your own. I greatly regret not going to a smaller, more rigorous, school. Aside from the amazing football games and fun things to do in a college town, the education was lackluster.
